Brightwater State School Parents & Citizens Association made their first cash grant to the school this year, when Association President Conor Walsh presented a cheque for $10,000 at the school's Junior assembly on Wednesday. The cheque was accepted on behalf of the school by Liana Stevens and Josh Russell.
The grant represents the first installment of an undertaking by the P&C to contribute $20,000 towards school funds this year and has been raised through a number of different fundraising activities including a cross country event, a Mothers Day stall and a school disco along with a contribution from the School Cafe which is run by the P&C.
Association President Conor Walsh said "This money has been raised in a series of events which, without the support of the volunteers of the P&C, wouldn't have been possible. My thanks go out to everyone who has volunteered, no matter how big or small their support has been".
