- Reading - a focus on the use of high yield
teaching strategies. Promoting the enjoyment and importance of daily reading.
Researching and implementing
best practice strategies for engaging students in sustained, reading time.
- Personalisation of Learning –
Understanding our learners well and planning for teaching strategies that
are responsive to student needs. Implementing curriculum that engages and challenges
children in order to achieve to their potential. Students knowing themselves as a learner
by setting goals for their learning and working their teachers on the
feedback given. Designing and implementing Individual Curriculum Plans for
students requiring significant learning support.
- continuing to develop teacher skill and knowledge in best
practice teaching of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
- Engaged Students – promoting strong attendance rates,
positive relationships between students that result in a safe and
supportive school culture. Implementing programs that teach and encourage
students to take care of each other and include each other in daily
Learning Behaviours Under the Spotlight for 2018:
1. Students display
with – routines; right place, right time, organized for the day, following
through with home tasks set, accessing clubs and activities at lunch time etc.
2. Students display
with – looking after personal belongings, finishing home tasks,
problem solving, presentation and following school rules.
3. Students display increased Accountability
by – owning their behaviour and learning choices and results. That is; when
they make a mistake with their behaviour or learning, they acknowledge the
mistake without blaming others and participate in fixing or finding a solution.
