​Enrolments

We are accepting enrolments now for Prep 2025. Children born 1 July 2019 – 30 June 2020 are eligible for Prep in 2025. If you child was born before 1 July 2019 but has not started school, they must attend Prep in 2025. 

You can collect an enrolment pack from our school office or apply online, by completing the following document and email it to office@brightwaterss.eq.edu.au

We offer school tours throughout the year, so if you would like to meet our Prep to Year 2 Deputy to discuss Prep and do a tour, please contact the office on (07) 5438 3111.

Current proof of residency at the address indicated can be provided by the following:

  • One primary source - a current lease agreement, or rates notice, or unconditional sale agreement, and
  • One secondary source - a utility bill (e.g. electricity, gas) showing this same address and parent's/legal guardian's name.

When enrolling a student for Prep we are required to sight the child's original Birth Certificate. If your child starts Prep in 2025, Orientation days are scheduled in Term 4 for children to attend and immerse themselves in a prep classroom.  

We have highly experienced teachers and full time teacher aides in all Prep classrooms, who implement a full-day program (8.45 am – 2.45 pm), 5 days a week.

The Brightwater State School Prep program includes:

  • Activity-based, age appropriate learning programs
  • Supportive, caring, differentiated and challenging learning experiences
  • Earyly years literacy and numeracy learning through Australian Curriculum
  • Music, Drama and Physical Education lessons with specialist teachers
  • Perceptual Motor Program
  • Library borrowing weekly 
  • Playground for Prep children
  • Airconditioned classrooms
  • Scheduled transition activities to support moving into Year 1following Prep.
Families living outside the catchment are welcome to apply for enrolment by completing the Application for Student Enrolment (PDF, 742KB)​ and fill out the back page 'Expression of Interest for Out of Catchment Enrolment Reason.'​
