​Enrolments

​​We are accepting enrolments now for Prep 2024. Children born 1 July 2018 – 30 June 2019 are eligible for Prep in 2024. If you child was born before 1 July 2018 but has not started school, they must attend Prep in 2024. 

You can collect an enrolment pack from our school office or apply online, by completing the following document and email it to office@brightwaterss.eq.edu.au

We offer school tours throughout the year, so if you would like to meet our Prep to Year 3 Deputy to discuss Prep and do a tour, please contact the office on (07) 5438 3111.

Also, check our school Facebook page for information about upcoming 'Prep 2024 Parent Information Sessions and Open Afternoons'.

We will continue to take enrolments for Prep 2023 for children born 1st July 2017 – 30th June 2018.

Current proof of residency at the address indicated can be provided by way of one of each of the following:

  • One primary source - a current lease agreement, or rates notice, or unconditional sale agreement, and
  • One secondary source - a utility bill (e.g. electricity, gas) showing this same address and parent's/legal guardian's name.

When enrolling a student for Prep we are required to sight the child's original Birth Certificate. If your child starts Prep in 2024, Orientation day dates are available in Term 4 for them to come and immerse themselves in the classroom.  

We have highly experienced teachers and full time teacher aides in all Prep classrooms, to implement a full-day program (8.40 am – 2.45 pm), 5 days a week.

The Brightwater State School Prep program includes:

  • Activity-based, age appropriate program
  • Supportive, caring, warm, stable and challenging environment
  • Perceptual Motor Program
  • All-inclusive stimulating activities
  • Drama and Physical Education lessons with specialist teachers
  • Extensive transition to ease the move into Year 1
  • Library borrowing on a weekly basis
  • Very large playground for active children
  • Developmentally appropriate literacy and numeracy skills program
Families living outside the catchment are welcome to apply for enrolment by completing the Application for Student Enrolment (PDF, 742KB)​ and fill out the back page 'Expression of Interest for Out of Catchment Enrolment Reason.'​
