Congratulations to Brightwater State School's 2023 Wakakirri team who have achieved success at the National level for their 'Precious Planet Earth' performance in the 2023 Wakakirri National Story-Dance Festival.
Brightwater State School has achieved National success in the 2023 Wakakirri National Story-Dance Festival.
Inspired by Wakakirri's ethos, 'Great Stories Inspire Change', Brightwater State School depicted the story of earthlings mistreating our precious planet and being forced to consider a new life on Mars. Enduring a battle for survival, the evacuees discovered that they needed to unite with the earthlings left behind to change their ways and save planet Earth.
For their 'Precious Planet Earth' performance, Brightwater State School were awarded a Regional Storytelling Award (Story Theme and Concept), a State Award (Environmental Action Story) and a National Story Award.
